What will I need to complete carrier contracting?
In general, you will need the following information for contracting with carriers.
You may not need every one of these for every carrier, this is a generalized list of what is asked for across all lines. For specifics, please visit the contracting tab on each carrier page.
In general, you will need the following information for contracting with carriers.
- A copy of Resident Producer License
- Copies of any Non-Resident Producer Licenses
- Copy of E&O Insurance (omit for P&C)
- AML Certificate (Life Insurance only)
- AHIP Certificate (Medicare only)
- If contracted under any other agencies, agency name and TIN
- State Driver’s License & Social Security Card
- Criminal records, felonies, misdemeanors, probation, pending lawsuits or indictments
- Financial records; Bankruptcy, pending IRS issues, judgements, garnishment, liens
- Records of alias or other names used
- Up to seven years of work and address history
- Line specific requirements

How long does it take to reach Ready-to-Sell (RTS) status?
This depends on a few variables: Preparedness, ability to follow instructions, and communication are essential!

- Brokers need to remember to check their spam or junk mailboxes for carrier emails
- Brokers should be sending RTS emails or certificates to admins so that their appointment process can be tracked.
- Carriers can take up to 3-5 business days to finalize appointments for brokers provided that the brokers have sent the required information. In short, we can only help you with the process if we know what you have done along the way. Give us your paper trail!
